Dallas Seavey wins 40th Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

Dallas Seavey became the youngest musher to win the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race crossing the finish line at 7:29PM Alaska time on historic Front Street in Nome, Alaska with 9 dogs.
The 25 year old held a lead over Ally Zirkle for the last 77 miles of the 1,000 mile trek from Anchorage to Nome. Dallas' father Mitch won the Iditarod in 2004. Seavey is a former Alaska high school wrestling champion who spent a year at the U.S. Olympic Training before turning his attention to mushing. Seavey gets $50,400 and a new truck for winning the Iditarod.
