NH pilot indicted in fatal Mass. plane crash

 NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) -- A New Hampshire pilot has been indicted on an
involuntary manslaughter charge in connection with a western Massachusetts plane
crash that killed his 35-year-old daughter.
   Prosecutors said Monday that Steven Fay of Hillsborough, N.H., was neither
licensed nor qualified to fly the small twin-engine plane without an instructor on
 board. The plane crashed on Jan. 1, 2011, as it came in to land at Orange
Municipal Airport, killing his daughter, Jessica Malin.
   Prosecutors say Fay's conduct was "wanton or reckless," and he flew in
violation of federal regulations.
   The 57-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Massachusetts.
   Fay told The Associated Press that he denies the allegations and has had a
pilot's license for 20 years. He says he was deeply affected by the loss of his
daughter.
