Spring practices starts for the Grizzlies
The Montana Grizzlies opened spring practice over in Missoula this week.
This was the scene at Washington-Grizzly Stadium as Head Coach Rob Pflugrad welcomed his veterans back for spring practice. The Griz are coming off a very good season going 11-3 and advancing to the FCS semi-finals. The Griz lost 16 starters off that team and return just two starters on defense and six on offense and 40 lettermen. Although it took these guys a little while to get back in the swing of thing, Pflugrad says it feels good to be out on the practice field.
“Sometimes our players even though, they work as hard as any program I've been around, harder than most, there's still such a long winter break that it takes a little bit of time to get them back into football mode in January and February and then the last three to four weeks that did an outstanding job in those drills, so it's nice to be out here,” said Pflugrad.
The Griz open the 2012 season on September 1 against South Dakota at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
