It seems only fitting that the Montana State Bobcats held their first spring practice on the first day of spring.

The Bobcats open 2012 spring drills at Bobcat Stadium.

Head Coach Rob Ash said, "We take it with a very positive attitude. We just like getting out here. The guys have been working really, really hard in the weight room and so, they're excited to be out here and actually get to play some football."

The Cats are coming off a 10-3 season where they got to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs. They have a lot of key pieces coming back including quarterback Denarius McGhee and three proven running backs. The Cats will also have to learn a new offense under the new offensive coordinator Kevin McGiven. But on this first day, the Cats say it's all about getting back on the field.

Tanner Bleskin, Cats wide receiver, said, "It's great, you know, we finally get to put our off-season work to test, you know. It's a great feeling."

The Cats will have their first spring scrimmage on March 31 at Bobcat Stadium.
