Griz fall to Badgers 73-49 at Big Dance
The Montana Grizzlies saw their season come to an end on Thursday afternoon as they lost to the Wisconsin Badgers 73-49 at the NCAA Tournament down in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Wisconsin (25-9) jumped out to a 39-29 lead at the half and conitnued to pour it on the Big Sky Conference champs in the second half. Montana (25-7) cut the lead to 48-38 on back to back 3-pointers by Mathias Ward and Will Cherry but they could get no closer. Ryan Evans led the Badgers with 18 points and All-American guard Jordan Taylor had 17 points and 6 assists. Montana senior Art Steward led the Griz with 18 points. Wisconsin shot 52% from the 3-point line and outrebounded Montana 32-19.
