The trial for a man accused of attacking two police officers with a 23-inch tie-rod is being postponed again.

Thomas Laverdure is pleading not guilty to two counts of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest. His trial, initially set for March, is now scheduled for September 29th. Judge McCarter granted the request from the defense attorney for more time for discovery.

Laverdure faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
