A 25-year old Bozeman man shot by accident over the weekend is reportedly in fair condition at a Billings hospital.

According to the Bozeman Police Department, Benjamin Johnson, 22, said he was woken up by a loud noise and the smoke detectors going off.  Johnson told police that after checking his apartment he found his gun, a 44 magnum revolver, on the floor in the bedroom with one round discharged, and a hole in the ceiling. Police say the bullet hit the neighbor in the leg. Johnson is charged with one misdemeanor count of negligent endangerment.
