Residents Encouraged to Celebrate National Constitution Week

With next week being Nation Constitution Week, Secretary of State Linda McCulloch is encouraging residents to celebrate our Constitution.

In honor of the week, McCulloch, along with other state wide officials including Governor Steve Bullock, will celebrate the nation's Constitution Tuesday in the Capitol Rotunda.  In 2004 Congress passed a mandate that schools receiving federal funding must educate students on the Constitution on September 17th.  McCulloch says this has helped encouraged students to learn more about the history of laws in our country.

"Students are very important, young people are very important so we want to be able to focus on the Constitution and on young people and from their perspective."

McCulloch is inviting the public to attend the Constitution Celebration Tuesday in the Capitol Rotunda at 1:00 pm.
