Bozeman's Hot Rental Market
Rental hunt in Bozeman a competitive proposition
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) -- Incoming students at Montana State University and a
growing overall population have left Bozeman with a skintight rental property
market, a development that's led to a competitive culture among those seeking to get
into a lease.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle \reports at one recent showing of a three-bedroom
house, nearly 25 people arrived hoping to make a good impression on the property
Rental applications now include glowing cover letters, said Brad Lindahl, of
Bozeman's High Street Properties, as prospective occupants play up their qualities
in a bid to get an edge on rival house hunters.
Lindahl chalks it up to the tight market, saying people are "just desperate.''
New rentals are being built, however, and some expect relief within the year.
