Governor Steve Bullock hosted his first Board of Education meeting Tuesday morning to discuss challenges and opportunities within Montana's education system.

Bullock says, along with the Board of Regents and the Board of Public Education discussed issues like the state's high school dropout rate, and the college completion rate.  Under his leadership, Bullock says he wants the board to focus on the importance of early childhood education.  He says with evolving technology, the state needs to make a conscious effort in updating its curriculum.

Bullock says, "It’s not just an issue that our kindergarten teacher face.  I am talking about the need for technology in our schools to recognize students are learning in different ways and we need to keep up with that."
The governor says the board is also looking at ways to implement more duel credit opportunities for high school students.
