HAVRE, Mont. (AP) -- The Chippewa Cree Business Committee says it will hold a
special election to fill the position of ousted Chairman Ken Blatt St. Marks.
St. Marks says he was wrongfully removed and will continue to fight the action
the council took Monday to remove him as head of the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation.
Business committee chief of staff Richard Sangrey says the governing panel will
request the election committee to set up the special election. Vice Chairman
Richard Morsette will act as chairman until it is held.
St. Marks tells the Havre Daily News that the council did nto give him any chance to
properly respond and the charges are based on false allegations.
