Gas prices down in Montana
Gas prices in Montana have been on a downward trend since last month.
AAA spokesperson Kaelyn Kelly says prices in the state are down to an average of $3.46 per gallon, compared to $3.77 per gallon last month.
Kelly says Montana's average price is currently $0.04 higher than the national average. She says after the Labor Day weekend, gas prices in the country usually start to decline.
Kelly says, "Because the weather starts to change, people want to kinda stay closer to home. So it's not the busy summer driving season that can drive up demand and in turn, drive up prices."
AAA projects, on average, gas prices nationally will fall below $3.40 by Thanksgiving Day.
