The British Columbia RCMP have called off an Amber Alert after finding a missing three-year-old boy in Montana today.

Authorities had thought Alvin Barnett was abducted by his father, 39-year-old Robert Barnett, who was visiting with him in the Elk Valley area on Thursday.

According to RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, the child and father were together during a supervised parental visit. He indicated that since the father had limited access to his child, the incident met the criteria for an Amber Alert.

Authorities believe 3 year old Alvin Barnett has been abducted by his biological father.  Alvin is about 3 feet 9 inches tall, 33 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

His father Robert Barnett is about 5 foot 5 inches tall.  He has green eyes and a scar above his right eyebrow.  Authorities believe Barnett took his son from his home in Elk Valley British Columbia.

He drives a 2002 Subaru Outback with British Columbia plates.  The vehicle was seen crossing the border in Eureka Montana at about 3:15 this afternoon.  Law enforcement believes the child is in imminent danger.

Authorities ask if people see Barnett or his vehicle, call 911 immediately and do not approach him.
