Repeat offender sentenced to 5 years in prison
KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) -- A 48-year-old Kalispell man designated a violent
offender and with previous convictions for partner or family member assault has
been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to felony partner or
family member assault.
The Daily Inter Lake reports that Ronnie Arthur was sentenced Wednesday in
Flathead District Court.
Authorities say Arthur assaulted a woman on July 21, and that she sustained a
black eye, swelling on her face, and bleeding around her mouth along with having
her dentures knocked out.
Arthur was convicted of partner or family member assault in 1994, 1997 and
2006. Also in 1997 he was convicted of aggravated assault with domestic abuse.
Besides the prison sentence, Arthur was also fined $1,500 and ordered to pay
about $3,600 in restitution and any future medical expenses for the victim.
