Guilty verdict in Butte stabbing death
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) -- Authorities in Billings say a 51-year-old Montana man
has been charged with his ninth drunken-driving offense.
The Billings Gazette reports that James Alan Tate was arrested Wednesday and
is being held in the Yellowstone County jail on $18,500 bail.
He has been charged with felony DUI and misdemeanor counts of driving without
insurance and driving without a valid license. Police say he was pulled over for having
a broken tail light.
Police say a preliminary blood-alcohol level was 0.361 percent, more than four times
the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Police say a second breath test at the county jail after his arrest measured his
blood-alcohol level at 0.263 percent.
