Absentee voting open in Montana
As regular voter registration closes and almost 230,000 absentee ballots are in the mail, the voting period in Montana is officially here.
Several people headed to the Lewis and Clark County Elections Office to cast their absentee ballots. More than 34% of Montana voters are registered for absentee ballots. Voter information pamphlets were also sent out today, containing information on general election ballot issues.
Sec. Linda McCulloch (D) Montana says, “There are a lot of initiatives and they're very confusing and very complicated and it's good to get a chance to read those initiatives and understand the language before you come to the polls.”
The packets are sent to every household with at least one registered voter. Although regular voter registration is now closed, late registration is available through Election Day.
