UM to honor Bozeman entrepreneur

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- The University of Montana plans to honor the Bozeman
entrepreneur who started RightNow Technologies with its 2012 Pioneer in Industry
Award.
Greg Gianforte's cloud-based customer service and support solutions company
relocated to Bozeman from California's Silicon Valley in 1997.
He built the software company to more than 1,100 employees worldwide. In
Bozeman, the average salary for a RightNow employee was $86,000.
Gianforte sold sold RightNow to Oracle Corp. last year for $1.5 billion.
The Missoulian reports the Montana Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs
and the University of Montana School of Business Administration will give
Gianforte the award on Thursday.
