Prison death at Montana State Prison

Officials are looking into the murder of an inmate at the Montana State Prison Sunday night.

The body of Danny Lee Hartford was found after 8:00 pm last night in a cell of the high security unit.  Two inmates are possible suspects in the death.

Hartford was 53 years old, and was in prison for violating his probation.  He was convicted of 2 counts of sexual assault out of Lewis and Clark County in 1997.

Officials at the prison are not releasing any more information about the circumstances surrounding the death as this is an ongoing homicide investigation.
