Man charged with sexual abuse over texted photos
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- A 22-year-old Ronan man is charged with two counts of
sexual abuse of children after a 13-year-old Missoula girl and a police officer
posing as a 14-year-old girl received explicit photos on cellphones.
Lawrence Mays made an initial appearance in Justice Court on Wednesday and
was ordered held on $25,000 bond.
Missoula County prosecutors say the girl's mother called police after finding
the photos on her daughter's phone.
A police officer used the phone to pose as the girl's 14-year-old cousin in talking
with Mays. Investigators say Mays sent pornographic images to the cousin,
asked for explicit photos and suggested they meet in Missoula to have sex.
Mays was arrested Tuesday in Pablo.
