Montana small businesses rewarded
Some small businesses in Montana are being rewarded for having safe work environments.
850 members of the Montana Small Business Program will soon receive premium returns from Montana State Fund for creating a culture of workplace safety.
Richard Root, MT State Fund VP of Operations, says, "In Montana, we are trying to inculcate a culture of safety, and sure we have large companies with risk managers and whatever, but we need to put this all the way down to our small policy holders because that really is what Montana State Fund is all about."
Some of the businesses will receive a return of up to 40% of their premiums for the year. Montana State Fund is returning more than $350,000 in all.
The Montana Small Business Program was part of a senate bill passed in the 2009 legislature.
