Man in custody following hit-and-run death
POPLAR, Mont. (AP) -- A man that tribal police at the Fort Peck Indian
Reservation say ran over and killed another man has been taken into custody.
Police tell the Billings Gazette that David Muskrat was arrested by police on
Saturday at a relative's house and that the vehicle used in the hit-and-run was
found behind the house.
Police say 33-year-old Rueben Blackdog died Saturday after being hit on a
street in Poplar in northeastern Montana.
Tribal criminal investigator Kenny Trottier says Muskrat faces a murder
charge in Tribal Court and could face federal charges as well.
