Governor Brian Schweitzer returns from Ireland.
Schweitzer says while in Ireland he met with the Prime Minister, Minister of Energy, and the Minister of Arts and Culture.
He says they discussed the possibility of Montana energy companies being involved in the future of Irish energy Schweitzer says they also talked about continuing student exchanges. He also visited Waterford, the birthplace of Thomas Francis Meagher, Montana's second governor, where he was presented with a Certificate of Irish Heritage. He says Ireland and Montana share many values.
"They have a love and affection for this distant place called Montana. And so to build this relationship with the people of Waterford and with all of Ireland, it's good for Montana, it's good for Ireland," Says Governor Schweitzer.
Schweitzer says he didn't extend his stay in Ireland to coincide with St. Patrick's Day because he'll be celebrating in Butte this year.
