Gas Prices Increase across the country

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Gas prices across the country and here in Montana, continue to climb. AAA Mountain West says motorists here are paying about 6 cents more for gas than they were last week.

Montana’s average gas price remains about 44 cents less than the national average.

Here are some tips from AAA to cope with rising prices: planning ahead and consolidating trips involving errands to cut down on driving time. Slowing down, the faster a vehicle travels the more fuel it uses. Lighten the load because hauling unnecessary weight in the trunk burns more fuel and fill up early in the week because prices tend to rise as the week progresses.

AAA says recent tension with Iran, coupled with economic instability in European countries are some of the factors related to the rise in prices.
