Higher Ed Listening
The new Commissioner of Higher Education for the Montana University System visited UM-Helena for a listening session today.
Clayton Christian discussed his direction as the new Commissioner before fielding questions from the public.
He says the university system has experienced a lot of changes lately and he wants to focus on continuity.
Christian says he also wants to look at options for helping Montana students cut down the overall cost of higher education.
He says his main goal for the listening tour is to learn about the individual issues at each school.
Commissioner Christian said, "Part of those listening sessions have also included meetings with faculty and staff and students at various campuses so just to familiarize myself with campus to campus specific questions and so it has been very helpful."
Christian says he will visit every school in the university system on his listening tour.
