Annual Special Olympics Torch Run
Local law enforcement showed their support for the Montana Special Olympics with the annual Torch Run Thursday morning.
Among those running Thursday were Helena Assistant Chief Dave Jeseritz, Sheriff Leo Dutton and MT Attorney General Steve Bullock. The officers took a run around the block starting from the Montana Highway Patrol with some of the athletes. Then a smaller group took the torch from Helena to Boulder to hand it off to the next group of officers.
"It's close to our hearts. We're always pulling for the underdog and it's nice to have law enforcement represent the Special Olympics so well,” says MT Highway Patrol Officer John Spencer.
The state summer games this year are in Bozeman next week.
