Helena College will be providing students with a new educational opportunity this coming school year.

Helena College will be offering an Associate of Science degree with a pre-pharmacy program of study beginning in the fall, as part of a plan to develop its academics.  The Montana Board of Regents approved the program at its May meeting in Great Falls.  Helena College Science Instructor John Hartman is excited about being able to give students this new option.

"You always have pharmacies.  You always have people who need medications.  And you need people that are trained, that dispense those medications, and are able to provide advice.  And we have a school of pharmacy here in Montana and it just felt like the natural and reasonable thing to do."

Students who pick this degree option will have targeted plans of study, that overlay with the two-year pre-pharmacy requirements of the University of Montana-Missoula Skaggs School of Pharmacy.
