Law enforcement officers have made their selections for this year's Junior Police Leadership Academy.

Lieutenant Torey Keltner of the Helena Police Department says several Helenans will take part in the Junior Police Leadership Academy, which will run from July 7th to the 13th.  Students will be introduced to different aspects of law enforcement, including leadership, firearm safety, driving skills and crime scene investigation.  Keltner says the goal of the program extends beyond learning about police work.

"We understand that not everyone that attends is headed for law enforcement, is gonna be a cop, or a sheriff's deputy, or a highway patrolman.  But we want them to go back and make a difference in their community and in the lives of the people around them."

The classes will be held at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, as well as the Helena Airport track, and the Sheep Mountain area.
