The Helena Police Department arrested a man involved in a hit-and-run incident Tuesday.
Lieutenant Tim Coleman says officers arrested 19-year-old Cyle Goddwin-Graves after he allegedly ran from the scene of a hit-and-run incident. Coleman says at 11:30 am Tuesday, police received a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Harris and Butte, and one of the vehicles fled the scene. Officers were given a description of the vehicle, and they located it nearby. Coleman says about 5 minutes later, an officer chased down Goddwin-Graves and apprehended him after he'd taken off running.
"The officer did an excellent job in getting backup in the area, getting a perimeter set up, and getting the person apprehended. There were no injuries. The actual arrest was very well-handled."
Coleman says Goddwin-Graves is facing a number of charges in addition to hit-and-run, including motor vehicle theft and obstructing police officers.
