The Lewis and Clark County Commission has requested the Central GOP Committee present 3 more candidates to fill former Commissioner Derek Brown's seat.

Last week the commission held a public interview for the 3 initial candidates that were presented.  Commissioner Andy Hunthausen says candidates Patrick Faber, Dan Wickens and Gilda Clancy are still being considered, but the commission wants to explore every possible option.

Hunthausen says, "The law allows us to look at 6 names, we thought that was the best thing we could do in terms of looking out for the public good and saying if we have 6 candidates we can look at why not do that?"

Former Republican Commissioner Brown resigned in November, saying he felt like an outcast in a room full of Democrats.  Hunthausen says is confident the commission will find a candidate that is willing to work with the others in the group.
