Gable Trial: Day 5

As the trial for accused murderer Michelle Gable continued this afternoon, the prosecution called crime lab scientists to take the stand.

The jury first heard from a serologist who discussed how DNA was swabbed from the 2 guns in the case.  Both guns were swabbed on the barrel and grip.  The serologist also testified there was blood and hair on both of the guns.

The jury then heard from DNA Analyst Joseph Pasternak, who explained how DNA is analyzed and matched with different individuals.  Swabs were taken from each of the victims, as well as Michelle Gable, to match to the dozens of samples entered into evidence.  Analysts found the DNA of another person on a penile swab taken from Joe Gable.

Pasternak says, "The deduced profile from this mixture matches the DNA profile of Sunday C Bennett."

Pasternack also says the swabs from the slide of the pistol and the handle of the revolver, matched Michelle Gable's DNA.
