Local quilting group looking for new members
A local quilting group that's been sewing for almost 20 years is looking for some new members.
Crafty Quilters donates quilts to those in need through different agencies, including the Helena Police and Fire Departments, Farm in the Dell, and the American Red Cross. The group's President Donna Atler says about 4 years ago, there were 15 sewers in the group. Now, they are down to only 5.
Atler says, "You can come and help. We do not require that you know how to sew or quilt or anything. There's a lot of things here and you can learn by watching and there's no wrong way to do anything."
Atler says anyone can join the club free of charge. The group meets Tuesdays at 9:30 am at the Helena Senior Center from September through May.
