Helena home experiences 2nd fire in 2 weeks
Firefighters in East Helena were called to a familiar scene Monday, as they battled a blaze at a home, for the 2nd time in 2 weeks.
The East Valley Fire Department first responded to the home on Winslow Avenue for a Christmas tree-related fire on November 27th, which didn't cause any damage.
Monday, fire crews were called out again, this time, the fire did extensive damage. East Valley Fire Chief Dave Sammons says the fire started in the living room, and is suspicious in nature.
Sammons says, “I don't know whether or not it was intentionally set, but couches don't normally go up in flames."
Chief Sammons has turned this case over to the county Sheriff's office for further investigation.
