God's Love looking for volunteers this Thanksgiving
With Thanksgiving approaching, volunteers at a local homeless shelter are preparing for the big holiday.
God's Love is accepting volunteers and donations for its annual Thanksgiving meal. Shelter Co-Director Joe Wojton, says volunteers fed more than 300 people on Thanksgiving Day last year. He says the shelter needs a minimum of 100 turkeys and 30 volunteers this holiday season.
Wojton says, "Especially during the holidays, because you really see the generous support of the Helena community and it's always very heartwarming. This is a great time of year at the shelter. We have a lot of people that will come in and it really warms your heart seeing how many people in the Helena community will donate."
Wojton says God's Love will take any food that can be placed in a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal, including turkeys, cakes, and pies. God's Love accepts donations daily between 8 am and 6 pm.
