St. Peter's Foundation prepares for annual gala
This Saturday, the 22nd annual Saint Peter's Gala will take place at the Helena Civic Center.
Beartooth NBC’s Drew Steele visited with members of the Saint Peter's Foundation to find out how important the gala is to local healthcare.
The mission statement of the Saint Peter's Hospital foundation is to provide healthcare that wouldn't otherwise be there. And by giving and receiving support the foundation continues to meet the needs of the healthcare community.
Lindsay Esponda St. Peter's Gala Chair, says, "Each year they hear about the healthcare needs that are in the community and pick something to give back to and this year it's gonna be the pediatric monitoring system."
Over the past 22 years, the annual gala has raised more than $1,000,000 to provide emergency assistance to patients and families, subsidize services such as hospice or dialysis and fund new technology.
Mike Munck Foundation Executive Director, says, "It's also a little bit of a public education platform people come to the gala, they hear about the project they hear where the money's going this year and they understand a little better."
Members of the foundation say the gala helps provide many benefits for everyone involved. Every year the gala raises money to put toward a project to improve the well-being of patients, faculty and families.
This year money will go to help fund a pediatric monitoring system. Last year money raised went to help expand the cancer wing of the hospital.
