Stage 1 Fire Restrictions lifted in Lewis and Clark County
Lewis and Clark County commissioners approved a resolution to lift the county wide fire restrictions at this morning's meeting.
The commissioners unanimously voted to lift the restrictions as of noon today. The board of commissioners made the decision after consulting Sheriff Leo Dutton and the rural fire council.
Sheriff Dutton says even though weather is cooler and the restrictions have been lifted, it is still extremely dry and people should be cautious. The Bureau of Land Management also lifted shooting restrictions in the north hills as of noon Friday.
Officials note the use of incendiary or tracer rounds and exploding targets is not allowed at any time on BLM lands.
