Helena residents can celebrate America by grabbing a bite to eat this weekend at the annual Patriotic Barbeque.

This Saturday, June 30 marks the third annual event at Memorial Park. Members of the Helena Community Dinner Project will be cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs. Drinks will be provided, as well. There will also be live music at the event, which takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will celebrate America and honor those who have served.

Larry Houser, event chairman, says, "The coolest thing about having the barbecue is when you actually run into veterans. You hand them a ticket or give them some information, and you thank them for serving our country, because a lot of those vets didn't get the right thanks when they came back. So I think to watch how those guys respond is pretty incredible."

Houser also says if you're interested, Helena Community Dinner Project is still taking volunteers for the barbecue.
