Carroll College hosts St. Baldrick's fundraiser this weekend
Carroll College is holding its annual fundraiser this weekend to support two causes, the Saint Baldrick's Foundation and Locks of Love.
Event organizers say they have 13 people signed up to shave their heads tomorrow and they expect a few walk-ins. They've already raised $4,000 of their $5,000 fundraising goal to support children with cancer.
Civic Engagement Intern Logan McLean says the event is a lot of fun, but takes a big commitment.
McLean said, “That disease is the number one killer for children today so that's pretty huge for that age group. So, it's important that organizations like St. Baldrick's or any other organization that seeks to raise funds for childhood cancer research is really important because otherwise we won't make any progress.”
The event is open to the public and starts Saturday at noon in upper level of the Carroll College Campus Center.
