Victim Advocate Awards
The Office of Consumer Protection, along with the Attorney General’s Office, is gearing up to recognize their annual Advocates of the Year.
The program, which was started 15 years ago, recognizes those who work with victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Matthew Dale, Director for the Office of Consumer Protection, says the recipients can range from law enforcement, judges, nurses and more. Dale says the nominations they receive are for hardworking members of the Helena community.
Dale stated, "The advocates frequently work long hours for limited pay and sometimes don't get the recognition that we feel like they deserve. It is tough work, it's working with people in crisis."
The application process opens March 26 and will continue until April 13.
