The Montana Economic Developers Association, or MEDA, is holding its annual meeting in Helena this week.
The meeting brings economic developers and individual business owners together to come up with ways they can assist in economic growth in Montana. As part of the conference, MEDA is also holding a two-part gubernatorial forum with six candidates running for the office. MEDA Vice President, Terry Myhre, says the question and answer session will help give the public a chance to hear potential platforms from each candidate.
"Well really we wanna take a look at these individuals and see what their polices are and what their beliefs are on the programs Montana has in economic development and of course we wanna be supportive of the candidates that are really gonna be supportive of our programs," says Myhre.
"I have a broader message that I'm bringing to them about what we need to do to restore prosperity to Montana. One of them is how do we unleash our economic potential and they have a role in that," says (R) Candidate for Governor, Rick Hill.
Part two of the gubernatorial forum will continue at the Red Lion Wednesday with three more candidates before the convention wraps up.
