Intersections and interstate are the focus as work continues on the Custer Avenue Interchange.

Project Superintendent, Nathan Malmin, says this week fire hydrants at the Custer and Montana Avenue intersection are being moved in preparation for the addition of new turn lanes. He says the new sidewalks should be graveled this week or early next week. Malmin says many upcoming tasks are weather-dependent, but the project is currently running a little ahead of schedule.

"That is everyone's goal.  The more efficient, obviously, the more things get done in a faster manner so it helps us along but it also helps the traveling public who's fighting through this construction right now," says Malmin.

Malmin says next Monday and Tuesday the beams for the new overpass bridge will go into place. Traffic will be diverted to the southbound lane on Monday and switched over to the northbound lane on Tuesday.
