MDT webcam gives 'on-site' perspective
As work continues on the Custer Avenue Interchange Project, the Montana Department of Transportation has a high definition way to see the work being done, without leaving the comfort of your own home.
MDT Civil Engineering Specialist, Jeremy Wilde, says the camera gives a record of construction as work on the project continues. The camera takes a still photo every 20 minutes from 6:30 in the morning to 6:30 at night. Wilde says after the project is finished the images can be made into a time lapse video. He says it gives the public greater access to what is happening on site day to day on the overpass bridge.
"It'll also be a tool for them to actually see the construction of the bridge when we shut the old bridge down and they don't have daily access to drive over the bridge and see what's going on. They'll be able to get on the web cam and take a look at the bridge being built there too," says Wilde.
Wilde says as the daylight hours change the camera will adjust the hours it takes pictures. To see the webcams click here.
