Some Helena Elementary school students had the chance to learn about a famous past president today thanks to a Carroll College professor.

Steve Harper, a computer science teacher at Carroll, traveled to Central, Four Georgians, and Broadwater schools today to talk about Abraham Lincoln. Steve says it helps to look the part, too so he can involve the students. He explains how he's been doing this for 18 years and enjoys telling stories of Lincoln's past accomplishments and family life. Steve says his memories of visiting schools have all been worthwhile and entertaining.

"I remember one classroom where I did my boyhood stories and a little girl was leading me down to the next classroom. She was a second grader and she says you know that was really good but I read the book about you and I know you're dead but don't tell the first graders!" Harper told us.

Harper says the 1st through 3rd graders really enjoy hearing his stories because it's right after they get finished learning about the historical president.
