Sweetheart Passion Plunge
This Saturday some brave individuals will take the plunge into the frozen Spring Meadow Lake to support Special Olympics Montana.
The Annual Sweetheart Passion Plunge raises money for local athletes. Organizers say it pays for everything from travel to equipment and facility fees.
Passion Plunge Coordinator and Helena Police Officer Domingo Zapata says there's still time to sign up.
Officer Zapata told Beartooth NBC, “ We usually get anywhere from 100 to 130, 140. Right now, we're just hoping to get any participants. Every year it's nerve racking when you get to the point you don't know if you'll get anyone that wants to dare jump into the freezing cold Spring Meadow Lake, but we usually have a pretty good turn out.
The plunging will start at noon on Saturday at Spring Meadow Lake.
