Commissioner of Political Practice
Last Thursday the selection committee charged with choosing candidates for the next Commissioner of Political Practices met at the Capitol and picked four people to submit to Governor Schweitzer for consideration.
After interviewing two of those candidates the Governor chose Jim Murry of Clancy to serve as the new Commissioner of Political Practices. Murry has a background as a labor leader and says he believes in participatory democracy. He says despite what may have happened in the past, he and his team will be focused on the job at hand.
"So what I'm gonna do is work with these folks and do the best job we can so that people don't look upon what we do with cynicism. They look upon what we do in a positive manner," Murry says.
Murry says his first day on the job has been a whirlwind, but he's excited to lead by involving others in the idea process.
