The Helena Public School District honored 22 student teachers from colleges and universities around the state today along with their master teachers.

The students work with master teachers in the district to get hands on teaching experience.  Montana State University student Brianna Hendrix says she learned a lot working with a second grade class at Four Georgians Elementary School.
“I really think that student teaching is a beneficial thing because that's really where you learn the most I think is being in the classroom with the kids learning from your master teacher.  It's, you learn more than you do in any of your college classes,” says Hendrix.
“It's a great experience and whoever gets Ms. Hendrix as their teacher is very fortunate. She's going to do an awesome job and she's more than ready to start teaching,” says Four Georgians 2nd grade teacher Karry Hauk.
Most schools in the district currently have a student teacher. Another group will start in January.
