Another malamute fundraiser is helping lighten the financial load for the Lewis and Clark Humane Society.

Malamute Munchies, which are handmade dog biscuits, is a creation by local baker Lisa Fairman.

Fairman got the idea from a previous baking fundraiser which helped raise money for the capital campaign. She says with the help of free labor and Park Avenue Bakery owner Renee' Kowalski they've been able to make over a thousand cookies so far.

So we have a great group of volunteers. We call them the biscuit brigade and it’s a group of people and businesses that have donated time and resources to make this happen,” says Fairman.

“When Lisa came up with this idea as far as the fundraiser I just volunteered the bakery so that they could use the bakery to have a facility to produce a large amount of biscuits,” says Kowalski.

You can find malamute munchies at 10 different locations – including the Humane Society itself.
