Billings man charged in Fort Benton stabbing death
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) -- A 25-year-old Billings man is jailed on $500,000
bail after being charged with deliberate homicide in the stabbing death of a 21
year-old man at a Fort Benton bar.
Charging documents allege Casey Lee Carlos stabbed Fletcher Courtnage
McKensey in the side as he was fighting with another man on Jan. 19. The Great Falls
Tribune reports court records say Carlos confessed to the stabbing and to owning
the suspected murder weapon.
An autopsy found Courtnage-McKinsey had two stab wounds below his left armpit,
one to his spleen area and one in his arm
Carlos was scheduled to make an appearance in District Court in Fort Benton on
Friday, but Chouteau County Attorney Stephen Gannon says the defense may move
to continue the hearing.
