GF woman charged with assault on a minor
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) -- A 37-year-old Great Falls woman who police say
assaulted her 5-year-old son with a belt has been charged with one felony count of
assault on a minor.
The Great Falls Tribune reports that Roshanna Deitra Barnes was charged Friday.
The Cascade County Sheriff's Office says it responded on Thursday after a report
from the Department of Health and Human Services about bruises on the boy's
head and back.
Court records say Barnes told investigators she spanked the boy with his belt and
hit him in the head several times while wearing a ring.
Barnes has been released from custody after posting a $25,000 bond.
