Great Falls man enters plea in motorcycle fatal
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) -- A Great Falls man has reached a plea agreement in
the drunken driving death of a passenger on his motorcycle.
The Great Falls Tribune reports Daniel Joseph Sangrey
entered a no contest plea Thursday to the charge of vehicular homicide while
under the influence in the death of Robert Ross.
Prosecutors alleged Sangrey's blood-alcohol level was 0.227, nearly three
times the legal driving limit, when he tried to pass a vehicle just before reaching
a city intersection on July 23. The motorcycle slammed into the side of a van
making a left turn. Ross died four days later.
The plea agreement recommends a 14-year sentence with 10 suspended.
Sangrey was on supervised release from a 2001 drug conviction at the time of
the crash.
