A brush fire off Highway 284 near Canyon Ferry Lake torched multiple structures Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATE 8:00PM

Broadwater county officials say there are some areas are still smoldering, but the fire is mostly out.  Fire officials say multiple out-buildings, a tractor trailor and truck were lost, but the two houses on the property remain untouched.

The Duck Creek Battalion Chief says although there are some areas of active burning, the fire is under control. Fire officials say multiple out-buildings were burned, but the two houses on the property remain untouched. The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but fire officials say it seems to be weather related.

“There was a lightning storm that went through so you could say it was that but I'm not quite sure exactly what started it,” says Chief Dave Plymale.

Multiple departments responded to the incident. Although some of the residents were home, no one was injured.
